Description
The concepts of Muscle Protein Synthesis (MPS) and Muscle Protein Breakdown (MPB) are well known among avid athletes. It is the interplay between the two that determines if muscle is gained or lost. Recently it was discovered that orally ingested Phosphatidic Acid (PA), when accompanied with mechanical stress on muscle and adequate protein intake, significantly activates the Mammalian Target of Rapamycin (mTOR) signaling pathway. mTOR regulates protein synthesis, whereby ingested protein is translated into new muscle. That’s MPS. New scientific evidence suggests that PA may even reduce MPB. Mediator Phosphatidic Acid (PA), our branded and patented ingredient compound, was demonstrated in a university study to provide double the muscle mass gain, increased strength, and double the fat mass loss in individuals engaged in weight bearing exercise and who consumed adequate protein. The science supporting Phosphatidic Acid relates to signaling by the mechanism known as the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR), which scientists believe is necessary for mechanical load-induced growth of skeletal muscle (muscular hypertrophy) and consequent strength gain. Many published studies indicate that the lipid messenger PA plays a critical role in this mechanical activation of mTOR signaling, and thus mTOR is currently a hot button of research. To date, we have conducted a vast amount of research validating Mediator Phosphatidic Acid (PA) as safe and efficacious. In addition, PA is naturally found in small amounts in foods, and it is a legal dietary supplement ingredient and is not a banned substance.
